WordPress – Is It All It’s Cracked Up To Be?

We have been planning to write this article for a long time, because in the past two years, the popularity of WordPress in the web design industry (wordpress web designer) has increased significantly. Which content management system should be used at each customer meeting, so we think this topic should be explained in more detail.

So what is WordPress?

WordPress is a content management system (CMS) that allows users to easily connect to manage their own website content without the need for technical skills or network coding knowledge. This is an open source solution, which means it can be used for free, just like other open source platforms Joomla and Drupal. However, it is free and does not mean that your website’s agency charges too much for the design and development of your website. There are still a lot of technical knowledge and time to develop a website on these platforms, and if you only use the basic code provided to configure your website, the results will be very small. Back in WordPress (wordpress web designer), the platform was created in 2003, initially as a blogging platform and then became the CMS for managing all elements of the site.

So, is WordPress the right platform for my website?

Advantage:

  • Simple user interface
  • Complete supplemental library
  • Easy to manage SEO
  • Multiple users/authors
  • Big blog platform

Disadvantages:

  • Safety
  • Design and development limitations
  • Add incompatibility issues
  • Restricted content management

WordPress is a great platform and, where appropriate, it can be very rigorous from a design and development perspective. If you are familiar with the CMS system, you may have noticed that WordPress sites are usually very similar, which is a perfect view. In addition, perceived ease of use can also create problems because users are trying to do more than just manage the content of their websites, for example by installing new add-ons. We’ve seen a lot of WordPress (wordpress web designer) installations that have compatibility issues and generate very unstable sites due to mismatches in add-ons or because someone has updated the version. Security is also an important consideration for the platform because it tends to be more specific than other platforms and is more likely to be attacked at the “factory.”

So why is WordPress popular?

One thing is for sure. As a platform, WordPress has more active sites than Joomla and Drupal for several reasons. At the basic level, WordPress can be set up very easily, and there are plenty of easy-to-use “templates”. This has led to a surge in DIY websites. Some companies may only need a basic web presence, which may be enough for them. However, it becomes much more complicated whenever you need to do something less standard or have business requirements for custom design. Others think that WordPress (wordpress web designer) is more suitable for SEO than other platforms; this is really a myth, because even if there are free and easy-to-use SEO plugins, the same principles still work, Google does not prefer a platform rather than another platform.

So what platform should I use?

We don’t think there is an answer to this question, and many factors must be considered in any project before choosing the right platform.

Example:

  • Design function
  • Safety
  • Future scalability

If these factors are not properly considered, the client’s ideal goal is often limited and adapted to the platform, not the other way around. Our view is “brief description platform”, and in some cases, existing open source platforms are not suitable and may require a customized content management system. However, we usually recommend Drupal. It was created in 2001 and is well known to the end customer, but it is well known in the developer world and is considered one of the most powerful, flexible, scalable and secure platforms. The uncommon reason for this is that development requires only more technical skills, but the CMS element (in other words, the bit it looks and interacts with) is actually one of the easiest to use.
